Best Egyptian apps for your iOS device!

If you happen to be in Egypt or if you're actually Egyptian, then you should definitely give those apps a try.

  • Bey2ollak
This very handy application is all about traffic in Egypt. You can get real time updates about the traffic condition of the major streets in Cairo. The app is user centric, which means that all the updates are generated by the users, who can comment on the condition of a certain road, ask a question or just select the color that reflects the current state of the traffic. The new features in this app really reflect the bright future for this app and promise you even more convenience in the near future. Among those new features is a new dedicated tab for roads in Alexandria, a dedicated tab for roads in the north coast and integration with facebook and twitter. This app is a must anyone who drives in Egypt.

  • Mujaz
A mind blowing app for those of you looking for a decent Arabic news app. This app gathers news from multiple sources and presents them in a user friendly interface. You can even customize this app by adding the sections that you're most interested in.

  • Goodreads
Even though this is not an Egyptian app, this app is very impressive for all those avid readers out there. It works perfectly for an Egyptian audience with its wide catalog of both Arabic and English literature. The app is based on the famous website goodreads.com and it exposes you to a large community of readers, so it's relatively easy for you to find sufficient reviews for any book of your choice.

  • Circle Tie

This smart app is the absolute guide to life in Cairo. Featuring all the popular places in Cairo and organized in categories, Circle Tie guarantees you a more educated decision when planning for a night out. With categories ranging from theaters to cafes and restaurants, you can check out tips on each place, see how many likes it got and who checked in recently. Circle Tie can also know your location and help you find the perfect hangout spots near you. Now, what's only bothering me about this app is that it lacks the active community that it should have since its user centric, but with a growing number of users I'm sure that will soon be history if only Egyptians get more accustomed to using their mobile phones for such purposes. Another thing that's concerning me is that Circle Tie is missing a "concerts" tab that can view all the upcoming concerts in Cairo, but it's very possible that this will be added in the near future.

Special Mention: Totally Egypt

Though the name is kinda lame, this app is seriously out to get Circle Tie at what it does best, social networking. This app has integration with facebook, addresses and phone numbers of businesses and an actual website with all the great features that you can expect to find in the app. What's the use of a website you ask? Well, just exposure and reaching a wider audience, since Egyptians aren't that accustomed to using apps anyway. We'll just have to wait and see how competition will drive Circle Tie forward and allow Totally Egypt to innovate.
